The world new normal has largely redefined life and celebrations globally. The difficulties that it has plunged all into could lead some persons into seeing life as having nothing to celebrate but that was not so for our Religious family.
The present difficulties and challenges did not prevent us from thanking God for his numerous blessings. Our Religious family thus, gathered at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Onitsha, Nigeria, on the 27th of September 2020 to thank God for the gift of our three (3) Sisters who marked the diamond jubilee (60 years) of their First Religious Profession and also nineteen (19) others who celebrated the silver jubilee (25 years) of their First Religious Profession!
The atmosphere at the Basilica was agog with great jubilation even as we tried to maintain the COVID19 Protocols. The Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian Maduka Okeke in his homily admonished the Jubilarians to see their jubilees as a moment of thanksgiving to God for his love on them while urging them to use the period of their jubilee year to reflect more on their journey so far in the religious life, find out areas in their lives where they needed to improve and make some readjustment in while thanking God for the aspects of their life’s journey that could be rated as successful.
After the Eucharistic celebration, the celebrants were ushered into the reception arena for the second phase of the celebration. It was indeed a day of joyful celebration for our Religious family.
