Cor Mariae Associate Unit, Brantford, Ontario, Canada

The following are reflections by some of our associates on their experience in making their Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

“Becoming an associate member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Family is another step for  me in growing closer to my Mother Mary and surrendering to her loving care.  The day of celebration was a joyful opportunity to unite with other brothers and sisters dedicated to Mary.”

                                                                                                                                                            Phyllis C.

“My reflection on the celebration of the Feast of Immaculate Heart of Mary gives us the chance to honor Mary for her unconditional motherly love for us. It is our way of showing our love to her also and being consecrated to Her is our commitment of taking the responsibility of showing her compassion through us to the people around us who need to know that they are loved by our Lord Jesus Christ through Mary. We are also reminded that we have a Mother and a great intercessor to our merciful Lord Jesus Christ. It is up to us now to perform, to work as God’s extension towards humanity. We are blessed that God is always with us every second of our lives seeing us through all the challenges of our lives as we perform His works of mercy.”

Henry S.

“I find myself in this stage of my life.  I need to live my life to fullness.  Love and trust God. Try to help and pray for the people who are less fortunate. Thank God for the grace every day. I love you all. Thank you! God bless!”

                                                                                                                                            Susanna T.

“Reflecting on Mary Mother of Christ brings me to the realization that through her I can become closer to Her Son by imitating (or trying to) her virtues – her humility, her gentleness, her holiness, her unconditional love.

Knowing that anything I ask of the Son goes through His Blessed Mother and if it is God’s Will, it will be given to me. Mary, Mother of All Wisdom, guide us.”

“The Mass was the spiritual food that always brings me comfort but it was extra special sharing it with my Immaculate Heart of Mary family and friends. The moment I got goose bumps was when Sister Angeleen instructed us on the changes in our lives now that we are walking with Our Blessed Mother in everything we do and all our works, sadness, sorrow and pain. To offer it up to Mary and she will turn it over to her Son Jesus for us. How humbling and also peaceful that made me feel.

The wonderful food and sharing after was so uplifting. I then came home, sat quietly and read my handbook. When I was finished I came to the realization that my work has just begun and I pray that my Blessed Mother cover me with her Mantle and give me the humility, compassion, strength, wisdom, and guidance to serve Her in whatever she needs. To Jesus Through Mary!”

Love and Blessings, Moira Mc L.

“The consecration brought me closer to Our Lady. I trust in her to pray for me for the graces to help me to bring peace in our community and in the world. Our Lady’s intercession will help me be a good child of God; for the church, my family and others. To “Jesus Through Mary” I will receive the graces for strength to always have hope!”

“I felt very privileged and honoured to be consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and am happy to follow another aspect of my Spiritual life.  I am sure many blessings are in store for all of us and feel truly connected to our entire group.  Thank you Sister De Porres and Sister Angeleen for introducing us to this special devotion.”

“In prayer, I learn to trust that God can work through me no matter what the circumstance or whom I am with. Thank you Sisters and Associates of Immaculate Heart of Mary for providing me the opportunity of participating in a consecration of peace and joy.”

Marian Mc C.

“My personal experience of the consecration to Mary my Mother was sacramental to me. It was

very spiritual and tangible because we did it as brothers and sisters together. Having the mass and then being consecrated deepened my awareness and spirituality, that we are one body in Christ. This gives me a closer relationship to Jesus through Mary. I was feeling Mary had her mantle of protection and love over us and united us as one although we were many. Ave Maria, Totus Tuus, ego sum!”

Rosanne C.

“The day was inspirational. It was an honour to be a part of such a beautiful event.”

Kate C.

“My experience of my consecration to Mary was very touching. I was honoured to belong to Mary. My consecration will bring me closer to her and to God. I will receive spiritual graces through her intercessions for me. This makes me very happy.”

Rosanna C.

“Oh Happy Day! Oh Happy Feast Day! This was definitely one of those red-letter days for me! How appropriate that our Consecration to Mary and induction as associate members of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Family was celebrated on the First Saturday in June, devoted to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I felt so blessed and in awe of the immensity of the day. What a beautiful celebration and ceremony organized by Sister Mary Angeleen and Sister Mary

De Porres. Our Act of Consecration with lit candles was very powerful! When we received our badges of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and our Associate Handbooks I was emotionally moved and touched by the honour that Sister Mary Angeleen and Sister Mary De Porres bestowed upon us. I don’t think I realized up until that moment the full meaning of our commitment and responsibility in becoming associates. Our mission has just begun. May Mother Mary surround us with her mantle of love and take us by the hand and lead us to Jesus. I am all Yours and all I have is Yours, O dear Jesus, through Mary your Holy Mother. Praised be Jesus and Mary!”

Vicki C.

“Through my parents, Mary has always been a part of my life since childhood. My father promoted “The Three Hail Marys” and my mother encouraged the Rosary, not to mention my parish community, especially in the Catholic Women’s League of Canada.

My consecration to my Holy Mother grounds me with a strong foundation in Jesus through Mary! I am very happy to be consecrated to Mary and through her Immaculate Heart I will continue to grow in my spiritual journey and to offer Jesus, through her, my ‘actions joys and sufferings’ of each day; all that is me and all that I have.

My consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary creates in me a deeper relationship with my Holy Mother. It is true what Sister Mary Angeleen said in her introduction; it will change our views! Ultimately this journey with Mary will change my soul!

I will trust in Mary, learn from her and benefit from her intercessions; to increasingly become the child God created me to be.

Thank you Sister Mary De Porres and Sister Mary Angeleen!”

“It was a day of Love….. I felt very moved when we consecrated ourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary … it’s hard to explain the feeling I felt in my heart.  I’ve grown deeper in love with Love. When you can truly love people with your heart regardless how they treat you and completely free your heart from any hatred and still show love and compassion for these same people… that’s love…. with this love I plan to make a difference in people’s lives.  I have been blessed on this day to be welcomed as an associate and I look forward as my journey with the Sisters and the Associate Members continues.”
